The former home of Doors frontman and poet Jim Morrison was set on fire early this morning in Los Angeles. This was just one of the 19 arson attacks that took place overnight in Hollywood. The dramatic fire engulfed portions of the house and nearby residences.

The shared celebrated 1922 Hollywood home with his girlfriend Pamela Courson. This was where Morrison had penned the album 'Waiting for the Sun' and parts of 'The Soft Parade.' The street inspired the song 'Love Street.'

"It was just like a towering inferno," a neighbor said, reporting flames 30 feet tall. At 1:20 am, a gutted Mazda Miata parked near the residence was lit on fire with a hidden incendiary device. The blaze then spread into the house. Soon after, 56 firefighters arrived at the scene and defeated the fire in 35 minutes. The authorities are convinced another spree is yet to come.
